  Pros: very affordable and convenient hours for working parents
  
  Cons: Outdated textbooks (20+ years old), learning material are 1 to 2 grades below average for most CPS schools, rigid staff and dishonest administration.
  
  We were not happy with Evangelical. Very unsafe psychologically for children. Lots of emotional and physical abuse here. The motto is "Teaching is caring..." I didn't see much of the caring part. Parents please compare learning materials with other schools. My daughter was in fifth grad and the class was reading Flat Stanley ( a book she read in second grade in public school!) Should you decided to enroll here, provide supplemental learning opportunities for your child. This school will not prepare your child with the academic edge that will be essential in the future!

  I went to this school in the mid 90's I think 2nd grade I'm 25 with one child... I hate going there I always got in trouble... I would never let my children go to a school who believes in corporal punishment... no one will be hitting my child but me... at the time I had just started.. I was in dcfs and they just place me with a family who enrolled me in that school... I just been molested and abused physical by my old foster parents... and I went there and they where hitting on me... u never know what a kid is going through.... I went to school to get away from the abuse.... smh... no stars from me... but I had to put a star down to write this review...

  I used to go here. I stayed here until the fifth grade then the school shut down. Im at a better school now but i have so many memories here. I remember all my teachers and I learned a lot from them. I know they were dedicated and I will never forget them. Like Ms B Jefferson and Ms Myers and Mrs Foster and Ms Young. I'm in the sixth grade now at a different, better school, but I will never forget E.C.S

  ECS many have very harsh punishments but it was only because they really did care and i could tell that every teacher i had cared about me because they always went the extra mile in order for me to understand the concept. ECS was the first school I ever been to I went there pre-3 - 6 grade and when i was in 6th grade they closed down sad to say but now im in 8th grader about to go to high school and is now making all A's and B's ECS set me up for success!!!

  Man, TBH when I went here I complained a lot and said I can't wait to graduate but now I am gone and the school is closed down I really miss it. I am in high school now and due to my experience of discipline and education at E.C.S I am a honor roll student, 4.0 G.P.A, and have no detentions. I said all of this to say THANK YOU EVANGELICAL AND EVERYONE THAT WORKED THERE.
