  I have only visited Gatling once in the nineties, My family received adequate service. By now (2020) I am sure there would different managers. After reading the comments, I don't see where I agree at all with who was at fault in regards to those who had unhappy comments. Four hundred dollars short is a lot of money, you want the funeral home to eat the cost? No that is not right. Pay your bill up front or go somewhere else where you can afford the cost. Gatling have bills to pay like all of us. Stop tripping

  I wanted to give you guys an honest review of your services on my grandmother's funeral. I would like to start off my letting you know how close me and her were, she was the echo to my heartbeat and I lost not only my grandma but my foundation to my life. I was very disappointed in the services provided at her funeral in which I helped plan the itinerary for. From the start of the funeral till the end was disastrous. The preacher acted as if it was his time to be comical and get his own word across that had nothing to do with encouragement. He decided to call my grandmother whatever name he could pronounce, he didn't use the prayer my grandmother wanted, nor the song the family chose all the words he chose to speak was what he felt would better fit his vision. We as a family worked very hard to respect my grandmothers wishes and to have a beautiful last memory, but when I think of how the funeral was conducted by Gatling's it was nothing of the sort made beautiful as much as the family tried to fulfill this vision it was impossible due to the lack of care from your business. I was totally disgusted with almost every ungodly word spoke from the preacher provided by Gatling's. I am truly appalled by the services provided and saddened that this is the memory that was provided after losing someone whom I loved dearly. My aunt has brought this to the attention of your staff but unfortunately the care and concern shows as did at the services. I think that it is unacceptable to think these services are acceptable when you are dealing with giving families services of their loved ones. I traveled many miles to see my Grandmother's home-going services and our family has trusted Gatling's with numerous services through the years but unfortunately this one was the most disappointing services ever expected.

  If you out there and have a loved one please do not use this funeral home on Wednesday October 19th , Gatlin had the family sitting in the waiting room the day before funeral up until 1 a.m. in the morning, the funeral was scheduled for 11 a.m. the next day just because the family was $400 short of a $6,000 bill which most of it had been paid.
  Gatlin told The Grieving family if they did not come up with the remaining balance he was going to cancel the funeral now be it not", nhe had $500,600 he was tripping off of $400 no respect to the family none to The Grieving mother or her kids. This is a black on Business Gatlin is disrespectful and uncaring where is the compassion for underprivileged family members who family member has a sudden death most families do not have on hand money to bury their loved ones this funeral home is not the one to be recommended for your family to be buried at.

  THEY ARE GOOD FOR RUSHING YOU OUT AND WHEN MAKING FUNERAL PLANS, DONOT GO OVER YOUR POLICY UNLESS YOU HAVE CASH ON HAND. AFTER ALL, IT'S A BUSINESS FIRST AND THEY IN THE BUSINESS OF MAKING YOU THINK THEY CARE. I HAVE MADE ARRANGEMENT FOR MORE THAN A FEW OF MY KINS. TAKE SOMEONE WITH YOU TO KEEP YOU ON BUDGET. STAYING WITHIN YOUR BUDGET DON'T MEAN YOU LOVE YOUR LOVE ONES ANY LESS

  To everyone who may have typed a review voicing there opinion of the professionalism of this particular funeral establishment I am in no way an employee nor representative of this facility but I will say this much some not all of you so please don't take offense if this doesn't apply to you but some of the time when you have people causing defamation of someone's character or there place of employment it's either one or two things your family along with your self couldn't afford to put your love one away with the type of service you felt that deserved well or you just caught up in the emotional aspect of things from losing the decease but I have you to know if people especially black folks Start invested in life insurance policies you wouldn't have to hide behind a review and lie and pretend that the staff was unprofessional and rude the staff have to pay bills and live as well so get over yourselves with the lying most of you I'm not saying they cross all their t's and dot all their i's everybody makes mistakes and depending on the severity of the decease and how they died that plays a role in the outcome of how they appearance maybe as well

  I am pre-planning and getting information from several funeral homes. I called this one and asked if they could send me information on a traditional funeral via email and was told that they couldn't. What century are we living in that I have to find someone to come to your facility to get basic information when other funeral homes are sending the information with no problem. Trying to support black businesses never seems to be as easy as it should be.
