Beautiful church inside and out. Always happy to worship here when given the chance

The facade of the church survived the Chicago Fire. Inside is a plaque noting that Abraham Lincoln worshiped there in 1860.

Wonderful architecture and very well preserved. The service was wonderful. Even from a millennial's perspective, the traditional service was very pleasant.

While visiting Chicago, we had the opportunity to attend the 9A service. This service focuses on the children and was great to have our church members of tomorrow so involved today.
Talked with the Sr. Warden who was very informative and helpful making us feel welcome. The history behind this place is sensational from the spiritual and humanity perspective.
If you ever have the opportunity to visit, please research the history first. It will give you a head start on every piece of history you will see. Would add pics but it just doesn't demonstrate how beautiful St. James is.
We will be back next year and attend the 11A service when the organ and choir will participate. Can only imagine how beautiful that will be!Added August 09, 2016 by Jerry Ellis
