Peaceful atmosphere. Beautiful altar and very spiritual.

This is a beautiful, serene and prayerful place. The architecture, sculptures, paintings and stunning baroque-style interior design help to foster a devotional atmosphere, along with the many real candles burning in colorful lamps throughout the sanctuary. It has a prayerful spirit.
The atrium is packed with religious relics of saints and items from the life of Christ. The main church has many beautiful niches and knaves for private reflection. There is even a real, large mechanical grandfather clock with a beautiful pendulum near the sanctuary which chimes the number of hours every hour.
The liturgy has a "reform of the reform" feel - at least the Polish liturgy, which is very attractive and has great and tasteful music used throughout.
The church is right by the highway - making it easy to commute to from the city or the suburbs.Added February 28, 2017 by Jonathan Smythe - ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Absolutely awe-inspiring architecture and beautiful religious art cover the interior. Gorgeous stained glass windows.

The craftsmanship of this church is off the scale. Absolutely unbelievable.

It's Big & Beautiful, the Corner stone was laid in 1917. A large polish following. Open from 5:30 am to 8:00 pm. It has been a Basilica since June 21, 2003. It is a great place to spend some time in adoration with Jesus Christ.
Saint Hyacinth, was born in Poland in 1183. He was ordained a priest in Cracow. In 1217, long time ago. The carving above our altar depicts an incident when the Tartars had invaded the city and Hyacinth seized the ciborium containing the Blessed Sacrament. and a marble statue of God and ran off to safety
Polish presidents Lech Walesa and Lech Kaczynski, as well as Polish cardinals, bishops and other prominent persons graced the parish;
Polish concerts and other events are held in the Basilica;
I find it best to enter on the west side of the building at weeknights.
Come back to church, it is what is missing in your life, go to confession, and come back to the Lord. Better to have a relationship with Him now so you are not such a stranger at the final moment.Added August 17, 2016 by Windy City Blues Society
